Science: Renewable and Non-Renewable Forms of Energy
The students are looking at various forms of energy, from the perspective of long-term and short-term thinking. This past week they have read about and designed brochures for four different types of renewable forms of energy - Geothermal Pumps, Wind Turbines, Solar Walls, and Solar-Powered Water Heaters.
Math: Patterns and Equations
We are concluding our brief mathematics unit on patterns and equations. This past week we have reviewed the main concepts. Pages 376 and 377 include all the concepts that will be on the final test. The test has been postponed to Monday, May 26.

Drug Abuse: Helping Your Child Make Healthy Decisions
This past week we have discussed and participated in the following activities:
"A Healthy Community and a Community Harmed by the Consequences Substance Abuse: Mural" - Students demonstrated an awareness of the impact of substance abuse on the home and community.
Read Aloud Novel: Messenger by Lois Lowry
