Summer Activities for You and Your Family

Dear Parents and Adults at Home,

This is the last weekly update of the year. To help you and your children prepare for the summer break, I have listed below a number of useful sites.

Fun family activities for the summer - this site was put together by a 10 year old girl and is full of great ideas in the Metro Vancouver area.

Probability Test; Museum of Fun; Manitoba; Field Trip to Stanley Park; World Oceans Day at Blackie Spit

Dear Parents and Adults at Home,

Math: Probability

Next week, we will be concluding our brief mathematics unit on probability. The test will be on Wednesday, June 11th.

Drug Abuse: Helping Your Child Make Healthy Decisions

We have concluded our unit on substance abuse. This past week students researched and presented information on a specific drug to the class. Our final activity is called 'The Museum of Fun.' Students will bring in artifacts, photographs and drawings, that represent what they do for fun. The Museum of Fun will take place on Thursday, June 12th at 11:00 am. All are welcome!

Social Studies: Manitoba

This past week we began a fun, activity-based look at the province of Manitoba.

Field Trip to Second Beach Pool at Stanley Park

On Thursday, June 19th, Divisions 1, 2, 3 and 14 will be traveling by school bus to Second Beach Pool at Stanley Park to swim, enjoy some fun games and activities, and cook up some hot dogs. Please read and return the notice that was sent out on Friday. It has all the details. If you can help us supervise children on that day, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
